NSW defence industry power on display
The State’s $5 billion defence industry was on show this month at the Pacific 2015 International Maritime Exposition held in Sydney.
The event provided the opportunity for the NSW Government to introduce the State’s defence industry to consortiums bidding for major contracts - including the $50 billion Future Submarines contract - along with more than 50 visiting Navy heads from around the world.
Twelve companies from Sydney, the Hunter and the Illawarra-Shoalhaven were hosted at the NSW Government stand.
The NSW stand included Thomas Global Systems’ patented Sunlight Readable Display which is well suited to the harsh operating conditions of the naval environment, along with the Phoenix Jet target drone by Nowra-based company Air Affairs.
